For not-for-profits
Less time on reporting. More time on the work.
Most not-for-profits we speak to are not short of data. They are short of the time it takes to drag that data out of a dozen spreadsheets every reporting cycle, and short of confidence that the numbers are right when they get there.
The usual starting point
A critical program running through a spreadsheet that one person understands. Board packs assembled by hand the week before the meeting. Funder acquittals that require someone to reconcile three systems that do not talk to each other. And a quiet governance risk nobody has named: if that spreadsheet is lost or that person leaves, the organisation is in trouble.
What changes
Program data moves into a properly structured database that your organisation owns, with role based access so people see what their role needs and nothing more. Dashboards pull from that source directly, so board and funder reporting generates on a schedule rather than being rebuilt by hand each cycle. Where reporting spans several systems, they get connected so information is entered once.
The result is less manual admin, fewer transcription errors, and evidence you can put in front of a funder without a scramble.
Why it does not become a new dependency
Everything is built on open and source-available foundations and runs on infrastructure your organisation owns. There is no per seat subscription that grows with your headcount, and no situation where your historical reporting is trapped inside a product you have stopped paying for. Training and documentation are part of every engagement, so your team can maintain and extend it themselves.
Common outcomes
- Board and funder reports that generate on a schedule
- One source of truth instead of competing spreadsheet versions
- Consistent indicators across programs
- An audit trail of who changed what and when
- Reduced key person risk around critical data
- No recurring licence just to keep access to your own records
Not sure it is worth it yet?
A reasonable first test: add up the staff hours spent assembling your last quarterly report, then multiply by four. If that number is uncomfortable, there is probably a case. If it is not, we will tell you to spend the money elsewhere.
