Fieldwork rarely happens somewhere with reliable internet. Survey teams, inspectors and community researchers still need a dependable way to capture accurate data on the spot, and to see it mapped once they are back online.
The problem this solves
Paper forms get lost, damaged or transcribed incorrectly later. Consumer apps that assume constant connectivity simply stop working in areas with no signal, which describes a lot of regional and remote Australia, including many communities where First Nations organisations operate.
How we approach it
We set up mobile data collection forms that work fully offline and sync automatically once a device reconnects, so field teams can work all day without worrying about coverage. Collected data, such as site conditions, survey responses, inspection results or consultation notes, is captured consistently and stored centrally rather than trapped on an individual device.
Where geography matters, results are shown on a map alongside other relevant layers, supporting planning, coverage analysis or environmental and asset monitoring across a region, including work on Country carried out by ranger programs and other community land and sea management teams.
